The First Aid needs of children vary from those of adults. This course is for anyone over the age of 16 that comes into contact with or works with infants and children. This comprehensive course equips the first-aider to administer First Aid to children and infants and covers a wide range of CPR and First Aid skills. On completion, candidates will obtain an Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid. The Paediatric First Aid is endorsed by CIMPSA which means that training has been quality assured by CIMSPA and is delivered by a CIMSPA education partner.
The Level 3 Paediatric First Aid covers a wide range of CPR and first aid skills, equipping the first-aider to administer first aid to children and infants.
This two-day course covers a range of CPR and first aid skills related to children, providing you with the skills to ensure a safe environment for children and infants.
The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for three years.
Paediatric First Aid is 12 hours and can be delivered over two consecutive days or can be split into smaller sessions and delivered over a 7-week period from the start of the course.
The course comprises practical work and theoretical classroom work, as well as a practical assessment on CPR and first aid.
Candidates must be a minimum of 16-years-old at the time of taking the assessment. No prior first aid knowledge is required.

To re-qualify, learners must be assessed against all learning outcomes and assessment criteria in the unit. For Paediatric First Aid this will be the same as the initial course of 12 hours.
